Bonface Kinoti Gatobu

Bonface Gatobu Kinoti holds a Master of Strategic Management from Kenya Methodist University, Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Writing from Writers Bureau College in United Kingdom and is currently pursuing a PhD Degree in Development Studies at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Bonface is a seasoned professional with over 15 years’ experience working in both the public and the private sector. Prior to joining Equity Group, Kinoti was serving as the Head of Governance and Advocacy at Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO), a non-governmental organization. In this role, he led SHOFCO’s effort to positively influence government policy and successfully helped to influence the Government of Kenya to implement and the recognition of Prior Learning Policy which has enabled thousands of Kenyans get certification for their skills, amongst them 102 artisans involved in Kibera Government Housing Project who got the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) certification. Additionally, he negotiated and facilitated signing of partnership agreements with various county governments. From 2013 to 2017, Kinoti served as an elected Member of the Kenya Parliament, representing Buuri Constituency in Meru County. He was the youngest Member of Parliament in Kenya and owing to his exemplary service, he won numerous awards including the Nation Media Group Top 40 Under 40 Excellence Award, the Mzalendo Parliamentary Award among others. In 2018 he joined the President’s Delivery Unit as a director, tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the successful implementation of government projects in various parts of Kenya.
